How to use the canvas playground template
The canvas playground template is structured into several key sections, each designed to showcase different features of Miro's Intelligent Canvas:
Intelligent widgets
The intelligent widgets section includes several tools designed to enhance collaboration and decision-making:
Poll widget: This widget allows you to create and embed survey questions directly onto your boards. You can enter your survey question and answer options, then start the poll to enable voting. Once the poll is complete, results will be displayed on the board.
Dot vote widget: This widget facilitates voting during meetings. Team members can drag and drop dots onto sticky notes or cards to cast their votes. The dots will move with the objects they are attached to, making it easy to rearrange without losing votes.
Story point widget: Ideal for sprint planning, this widget lets team members vote on story points for tasks or projects. Similar to the dot vote widget, story points can be dragged and dropped onto cards or sticky notes, and they will update the relevant fields automatically.
People widget: This widget helps you add team members to objects on your canvas. You can drag a team member's avatar onto a task or card to assign it to them. The widget shows logged-in users who are active on the board and allows you to search for and pin anyone in your organization.
Timeline widget: This widget enables you to create detailed project timelines. You can add tasks, set deadlines, and visualize the project flow, helping you keep track of progress and deadlines.
AI Sidekicks
AI Sidekicks are AI companions designed to assist with various tasks on the canvas. They can provide expert advice, generate next steps or to-do lists, and offer feedback on content clarity and conciseness. AI Sidekicks can be invoked from a button in a template and will appear on the board as participants, completing predefined jobs like adding comments or writing documents.
Create with AI
The "Create with AI" section allows you to leverage AI-powered tools to generate content, organize ideas, and automate tasks. You can use AI to synthesize data from workshops, perform market research analysis, and generate summaries of user research or competitive analysis. This section is designed to enhance productivity and creativity by automating repetitive tasks and providing intelligent suggestions.

Intelligent Templates are custom, interactive workflows powered by AI, interactive tools, and integrations. These templates can be tailored to fit specific project needs and help streamline processes. Fibonacci Scale Template
Works best for:
Agile Methodology, Prioritization, Agile Workflows
When you manage a team, you often have to estimate how much time and effort tasks will take to complete. Try what often works for Agile teams all over the world: Turn to the Fibonacci Scale for guidance. Based on the Fibonacci sequence, where each number is the summation of the two previous numbers (0, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, etc.), this template can help you build timelines like a champ—by helping make sure that work is distributed evenly and that everyone is accurate when estimating the work and time involved in a project.
Meeting Agenda Template
Works best for:
Business Management, Meetings, Workshops
A detailed, clear agenda — that’s what separates meetings that go completely off the rails from those where goals are met and things get done. So grab this template and set a meeting agenda that lays out expectations for before, during, and after the meeting. It’ll enable participants to get prepared beforehand and empower you to stay on-task and identify when the discussion is complete. (Tip: Plan ahead to send out your meeting agenda at least 24 hours before the meeting.)
Johari Window Model
Works best for:
Leadership, Meetings, Retrospectives
Understanding — it’s the key to trusting others better and yourself better as well. Built on that idea, a Johari Window is a framework designed to enhance team understanding by getting participants to fill in four quadrants, each of which reveals something they might not know about themselves or about others. Use this template to conduct a Johari Window exercise when you’re experiencing organizational growth, to deepen cross-functional or intra-team connections, help employees communicate better, and cultivate empathy.
Parking Lot Matrix Template
Works best for:
Project Management, Ideation, Meetings
When the creative energy is flowing, a workshop or meeting will yield a lot of new ideas — but not all are on-topic or currently feasible. Roll them right onto a parking lot matrix, a simple, effective tool for separating the best ideas from those that are promising but could use more research or discussion. This template will let you easily make your own parking lot matrix, which will come in especially handy during long meetings (and when you have teammates who tend to go off-topic).
Mad Sad Glad Retrospective
Works best for:
Brainstorming, Ideation
It's tempting to measure a sprint’s success solely by whether goals and timelines were met. But there’s another important success metric: emotions. And Mad Sad Glad is a popular, effective technique for teams to explore and share their emotions after a sprint. That allows you to highlight the positive, underline the concerns, and decide how to move forward as a team. This template makes it easy to conduct a Mad Sad Glad that helps you build trust, improve team morale, and increase engagement.
Breakout Group Template
Works best for:
Education, Team Meetings, Workshops
Breakout groups provide an excellent opportunity for teammates to have candid conversations and connect on a more intimate level than is possible during a broader meeting. When you’re in a large group setting, it can be difficult for people to feel safe or comfortable speaking up. In a smaller group, participants can feel safer sharing their ideas. Since the group is more intimate, teams are empowered to participate rather than observe.
