IA Card Sorting Activity
Introduction
In this activity, you will conduct a card sort using 15–20 pieces of content from a fictional educational technology platform, along with actual user quotes about how they think about and use these resources. The goal is to categorise all the cards and give each category a name.
💻 What to do?
Drag user needs into distinct categories. Look at the user needs one at a time and place them in different categories, grouping by commonality. For example, "I need to know what's due this week." and "Where can I find official course policies and materials?" could go together.
Drag cards into the distinct categories of user needs. You can change the categories as you go, if different patterns emerge.
Name each category based on the main pattern(s) between the user needs and cards.
There is an "Unsure" category, if you are not sure where to put certain cards.
